Lack of Respect!
This is a funny hand I saved from today's play on Poker Stars. Look at the action (lack of respect) that I receive from two players! =)
RESPECT!
*Happy Birthday Clay!
**Tokarz' bachelor party is this weekend at a Casino in Louisville. It's gonna get a little crazy.
My WSOP Main Event prediction is Chino Rheem takes it down. The "November Nine" is all set so check out CardPlayer.com to read all about it.

Grueling days
Well I just finished day four here at the WSOP. I was never all in on days two and three, not even close, but the press reported differently. Today I fought through hell to survive. I had a set vs. a straight in a heads up raised pot at the TV table (J-9-4-8-2 Q-10 vs. 8-8), and then things seemed to stay pretty bad. It is possible that I raised 20 pots, and was reraised 19 times, and laid them all down. Finally, I picked up J-J, and called the reraise, only to see the K-Q-4 flop, and then I folded!I caught two breaks, I have K-K vs. A-K, but waited until the 7-5-3 flop before I put my last $100,000 in the pot. I was called, but my hand held up. Then, I had A-5 in the big blind, and the flop was 10-9-5, and K-10 bet out $15,000 into $45,000, and I hit a 5 and doubled all the way through. Late in the day I found a rhythm, but they called it a day 38 minutes early. Still, I am extremely happy, and extremely proud of my play today. I always say I'm the best, yada yada da, but today I'm truly happy that I survived despite all kinds of pitfalls. I may have played one of my best days of poker ever. I actually moved up in chips from $496,000 to $581,000, and I'm honestly thrilled. If not for the super slow structure that I believe is the best structure in the history of poker, I would have been out today. After two smooth days, a good old fashioned all out brawl woke me up!!I'm hoping for some great luck the rest of the way, or at least not another day like this one!!! It took everything that I have to make it through this day. I'm at the peak of my powers, and hoping, praying that I can keep it up despite extreme fatigue. I would pay $25,000 for a great night of sleep!!!
Check out the coverage from Day 4!

Mitchell Cogert's words on Bonetti
"At my first WSOP event, John Bonetti was at my table. He was sitting to my left.Frankly, I was intimidated by everyone that day, but I was especially intimidated by him. He not only looked like a mean guy but he also talked mean. I could never figure out if it was all an act.
The first time everyone folded to me on the small blind I raised him with a weak Ace. He didn't even hesitate as he quickly re-raised me from the big blind. I folded, but he glared at me like he wanted to rip my head off. The guy must have been 70 years old and he wanted to fight?
I looked away and smiled thinking he has to be joking. But when I looked back at him, well, his expression hadn't changed.Maybe that was his poker persona.
I wanted to play against him again since I knew I wouldn't be intimidated and I wanted another chance to figure the guy out. But it never happened, and yeah, now it never will.
Rest in Peace, John Bonetti."

July 1st - Life is great!
I've been extremely busy lately with moving into my new apartment, summer classes at UD, and poker. I only played twice last week but it feels good to be back in to the game... No-Limit cash game.
I bought in $100 at a $1/$2 game and played three and a half hours. I cashed out with $769 with was lovely. I didn't win a pot over $200, I was never all-in, and in any all-in situation - I had the best of it. What a surprise!
"In poker, you're only as good as your table is bad."
A middle-position player open-raised to $12 and one player (maniac) called to my right. I looked down at KK on the button and made it $40 to go. This is a great example of how I cashed out over 7.5x my buy-in. The initial raiser "studied" for a long time (eventually folding KT as he so proudly stated after the hand) but layed it down, and then the maniac went into the tank. Eventually he moved all-in for $49 more dollars. I snap-called and flipped up Kings which the table "Ooed/Awed" (donkeys) and then I heard a request by the maniac for cards to beat my Kings like I have never heard before. Usually in this situation, the player makes a face and says "Come on seven!" as he flips over pocket sevens. Maybe even more likely, the player will grimace and then say "I need an Ace." as he flips up AJ. But NO! Before the cards were exposed, I heard "Come on 9's and 3's!!"
Yes, come on nines and threes. The maniac flipped up 93 (suited mind you) for a $194 pot all-in pre-flop. Again, this isn't a hand to show my brilliant reads or perfect timed aggression, but rather just how bad the players were. I won the pot and the maniac rebought for $200! Yay!
Maybe the worst part about all this was how the third best player at the table went on the say how my KK was a 97% favorite over 93s! Can you believe that? Is he serious? Then again, I'm not gonna correct him. I just smile and agree. By the way, KK is only an 83% favorite when all the money got in pre-flop.
I'm going back to the game tonight and I'm sure close to the same will happen. I can't expect to win 7.5x my buy-in every time I play with these guys, but there's no way I can't make some where around $60-100 an hour at this table.
I played the next night at the Argosy and took my buy-in of $300 up to $1,180 but took a sick beat with top-two pair to a running straight and ended up cashing out $896. Not too bad for back-to-back days. I can't wait till I graduate school and I can focus 100% on poker.
Random thoughts:
In not-so-great news concerning poker - Clay, Rachel, and I played a three handed sit-n-go last night and after moving in PF heads-up against Rachel with A9 - I found myself near dead to her Ace-Ace! She's a good player. She's folded Jacks correctly pre-flop, which puts her somewhere around better than 98% of players who could never make that play ever. She's a keeper.
I'll post more on the cash games I play in this week, win or lose, later on. By the way, both Venus and Serena are in the final four at Wimbledon. That would be sweet if they met in the Championship, where I will root for Serena to beat up on her older sis - much like when I kicked Gabe's ass in basketball while we were growing up... or was it that I never won a one-on-one game in 14 years of trying? haha =)
J.C. Tran won his first bracelet last night! Also, Niky E. cashed for the 10th time last night in the WSOP. TEN CASHES IN 1 MONTH! Sick record...
Last but not least, Have a Happy 4th of July weekend. I'll be spending mine at my new place with Gabrel, Molly, Rae, Clay, and Lacey. Saturday we're going to the Lake! Also, I picked up bowling hardcore over the last few days. I took lessons and appear to not be a total hack to the naked eye at the lanes. I bowled a 227 the first hour I learned how to spin the ball. I average around a 165 over the last ten games. I want to get that up to 190 and if you know me at all, you know that I will. Peace to all!

Highway to Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth, Jr. has a great chance for bracelet number 12 tonight! I'm excited... not gonna lie to you. I'm gonna watch the final hands go down, unless Phil makes an unexpected exit from the tournament. Not only is it a great chance for #12, but also for his first non-Hold'em title. He cashed for his 4th time in this year's WSOP and 67th overall, extending his own record of most cashes ever at the WSOP.

He's made it to the final day of Event #51 - H.O.R.S.E. $1,500 buy-in tournament. There's only 21 players remaining and the Poker Brat sits atop the list as the dominant chip leader. He's got around 1/8th of the chips left with 21 people remaining. Mathematically he's just a little over 10% to win the title, but it's Phil Hellmuth! I'd say he's easily 1:3 to take down his 12th bracelet!
Follow the final day hand-for-hand starting around 6pm our time at WorldSeriesofPoker.com!
