is it good?
At my first WSOP event, John Bonetti was at my table. He was sitting to my left.
Frankly, I was intimidated by everyone that day, but I was especially intimidated by him. He not only looked like a mean guy but he also talked mean. I could never figure out if it was all an act.
The first time everyone folded to me on the small blind I raised him with a weak Ace. He didn't even hesitate as he quickly re-raised me from the big blind.
I folded, but he glared at me like he wanted to rip my head off. The guy must have been 70 years old and he wanted to fight?
I looked away and smiled thinking he has to be joking. But when I looked back at him, well, his expression hadn't changed.
Maybe that was his poker personna.
I wanted to play against him again since I knew I wouldn't be intimidated and I wanted another chance to figure the guy out. But it never happened, and yeah, now it never will.
Rest in Peace, John Bonetti.
